Passage Brief
Departing from Isla Flamenco, Panama City we set sail for the Galapagos Islands also once known as “The Enchanted Islands”. The Galapagos are a volcanic archipelago, rising from the sea, sitting across the Equatorial line. A wonderful example of natures ability to create as the islands are full of unique and extraordinary creatures. The region is made up of 13 main islands and many smalls islets. It is one of the largest marine reserves on the planet and has been a national park for more than 70 years.

This route from Panama to Galapagos, a 900 nautical mile passage is special in many ways as it takes us across the equator and through the ITCZ with a reputation for delivering a wide variety of conditions. March is though reputed to provide the most favourable prevailing conditions to sail this passage. An excellent opportunity to learn, develop or enhance offshore sailing techniques on a classic and extremely interesting route.
