Boarding in Portobelo, Panama, during the afternoon. After familiarising guest will the sailboat we’ll enjoy dinner onboard and a comfortable night anchored in the bay. Then shortly after breakfast the following morning we will raise anchor and enjoy a relaxed sail to Colon. Where we will then standby for instructions to commence our Panama Canal Transit.
Transiting the Panama Canal with Ave Maria from the Caribbean Sea to the Pacific Ocean will provide you with an invaluable first hand experience of the process. With an up close and functioning view of this truly great engineering and construction marvel.

The next morning we will enter and pass through the 3 Gatun Locks which will raise Ave Maria 25 metres above sea level and position us to navigate the Gatun Lake. After overnighting on board at the western edge of the lake we pass through the Balboa Locks the next day which lower us back to sea level. From here we then sail to Isla Tobago on the Pacific coast of Panama.

The following morning we will raise anchor and sail to the Pearl Islands where will anchor close to the beach, relax, explore and enjoy the island environment. Moving to another island the next day to once again explore, relax and play.
Departing from the Pearl Islands around midday on day 5 to embark on our return sail to Isla Flamenco, Panama City where you will disembark shortly after sunset.
